you go to all that trouble to shoot in Thailand, then you put that soundtrack to it!!
It’s really bad – sluggish and monotonous
Very average.
Nothing like the beautiful old rice ads the built objects out of rice.
It’s hard to believe that Deneen shot this, frankly it’s visually dull and feels incredibly dated. It’s also hard to believe that these creatives were responsible for writing, as its well below par for them too. Should go back and look at their end line, which is a great positioning line for the brand . Try bringing that to life instead of trying to score a trip.
Even respected creatives have to sell out when they don’t have the cushion of a big agency to protect them from the harsh realities of putting food on the table. But surely Tim & Pete, you must have had doubts about this. Where are your principles? It’s totally generic to the category. Wait, perhaps the rationale is that SunRice dominates the category so if you sell more rice, you sell more SunRice. Any way you look at it, this is hackneyed, predictable wallpaper that doesn’t even do a job for Thai tourism. Surely there must be SOMETHING to say about SunRice. And if not, at least you could have done an irresistibly catchy BRANDING idea.
Very very average…some stuff you just don’t PR!
A bit nothing really considering the people who are part of this.
I dont even feel like going back to Thailand after seeing that….what…it’s for rice?
someone skimped on the camera budget.
Do poor people in Thailand really spend half their weekly wages on overpriced Australian rice?Nice end sequence though, Pete.
I don’t think it’s as bad as they’re making out – although it’s certainly not great.
My problem is the people sitting around that table could have paid for the whole meal for the same price we pay for a bag of Sunrice here. It only serves to remind me of the cheaper brands that actually are from Thailand, cost 5-6x less and are slightly more authentic than the lupen-tasting shite Sunrice call rice.
What’s wrong Yuri Gagarin?
tough room, these days it’s hard to get a client to approve a meeting time little own a script. It does not set the world on fire but it looks good for no doubt a crippling budget…and there is little like it on TV. The days of beauty in advertising are long gone. All I can say is I hope they enjoyed their time in Thailand it’s a tough business.
Film Graphics Entertainment?
so many haters, the ad is a nice feel good spot and will appeal to the consumers that buy the rice. isn’t that we do, make ads to sell products???
Sunrice doesn’t sell rice in Thailand.
Only Thai rice is available in Thailand.
good
