Comms Council presents ‘The Foundation Series’ for young ad folk to gain knowledge directly from industry leaders – starts Thursday 28 May

Younger people working in advertising will have a unique opportunity to boost their knowledge and gain direct exposure to industry leaders thanks to a new initiative from The Communications Council.

Commencing on 28 May and running on Thursdays, The Foundation Series is a six-week program of Zoom webinars designed to enable those with under three years’ industry experience to connect with, and learn from, senior advertising figures from a range of agencies and roles.

Says Tony Hale, CEO, The Communications Council: “We’re really proud to bring this new initiative to younger members of our industry. We’ve put together a program of six intriguing and energising sessions led by some of Australia’s most creative and commercially powerful thinkers.

“It’s never been more important for recent entrants into advertising to build on their knowledge base. What makes The Foundation Series unique is that this is a way of learning from the best in our business in an informal, interactive online setting.”

Speakers in The Foundation Series will include Paul Coles, general manager BMF Sydney; Ali Tilling, chief strategy officer VMLY&R Au/NZ; Sarah McGregor, creative director, Cummins&Partners; Jeremy Jenkinson, chief financial officer Wunderman Thompson; Ciaran Park, executive technical director R/GA; and Alex Hay, executive producer/partner Rabbit Content.

Participants in the webinars will have the chance to ask questions of all speakers, and those who attend all sessions will receive a TCC Foundations Certificate.

The first Foundation Series is a pilot program for an ongoing series to be run annually from 2021.

The Foundation Series is open to members of The Communications Council only and is free.
