Club 4X4 Insurance introduces Bob the Bobblehead in new campaign via The Reactor
Following the success of last year’s “Free the 4WD” campaign, Melbourne agency The Reactor has partnered once again with Club 4X4 Insurance to launch a new through-the-line brand campaign, this time introducing their new brand mascot, Bob the Bobblehead.
Club 4X4 Insurance is uniquely tailored for 4WD enthusiasts who take their vehicles on off-road adventures. They offer coverage anywhere you can legally drive in Australia, alongside separate agreed value cover for modifications and built-in vehicle recovery. While the brand was originally built on a strong foundation of word-of-mouth within the 4WD community, The Reactor’s previous work drove significant growth in both brand awareness and new policy uptake. This year’s campaign aims to accelerate that momentum by adding to their suite of brand assets.
The Reactor’s Creative Director, Nick Brown, says collaborating with the Club 4X4 marketing team is an absolute joy: “They are strategy-first, with a deep understanding of the power of brand and where awareness versus tactical messaging should sit in the funnel.
“Their challenge to us was to develop a mascot that embodied the ‘Free the 4WD’ sentiment of the brand, but could also be playful and fun, as the brand doesn’t want to take itself too seriously.”
Enter ‘Bob’ the Bobblehead.
Tom King, Brand Marketing Manager for Club 4X4, notes that the brand faces a unique hurdle in the highly competitive insurance sector: “We’re in a fortunate position where we have a really compelling offer for 4WDers compared to our competitors, but we don’t have their budgets, so any campaign we bring to market needs to be recognisable.
“We knew we needed to add more distinctiveness to Club 4X4’s brand, so when The Reactor came to us with Bob, we could see its strength immediately. The nodding head embodies our role in our customers’ lives, being an enabler to their lifestyle rather than a blocker. We’re very happy with how The Reactor executed the idea, bringing the reality of boring work video calls to life and capturing a moment we all want to break free from in our daily lives.”
The new campaign is live across TV, OOH, and digital platforms from the end of August.
