Carhireexcess.com.au’s brand new radio spot via ARN promises car hire cover baaa-rgains

All Aussies have felt the pressure to take out last minute insurance excess waiver when hiring a car, but some pre-planning can save ‘ewe sheeps’. The team behind Carhireexcess.com.au want Aussies to consider the ‘shear’ cost of a rental car collision.

With help from its wooly mascot Baaarney and a spot of star talent, its new radio ad, developed with ARN, encourages customers to stop getting fleeced at the hire car depot.

Says Natalie Ball, director, Carhireexcess.com.au: “Our radio campaign represents the distinctive character and appeal of our brand. Our policies offer affordable, great value cover for the true-blue Aussie consumer.”

Ball says that most drivers are simply unaware of the exorbitant rates charged by car hire companies: “For too long now, rental car companies have been pulling the wool over their customers’ eyes. Drivers are often forced to pay for overpriced excess reduction fees. Not only is our product around 50%* lower than many standard car hire companies, we lower any excess payable down to $0”.

The voice of “Everybody’s Free to Wear Sunscreen” singer-actor Lee Perry helped bring to life the company’s furry character Baaarney.

Says Ball: “Our brand may be fun, but there’s zero fluff. Our voice-over talent really embodies our no-fuss, cost-saving ethos.

“Paying big bucks for rental excess cover is a real downer. Baaarney wants customers to pre-plan and ‘say no at the depot’.”

Championing the Carhireexcess.com.au spirit is Baaarney, the blue buck who finds himself in a flurry over the exorbitant cost of excess reduction rates.

Says Ball: “Baaarney was born out of the desire to give Aussie drivers a product that would serve them well on their adventures. He’s fair dinkum, and doesn’t believe in empty promises and hyped-up policies. Importantly, while he may call Australia home, Baaarney believes that roadtrippers of all nationalities deserve the opportunity to ride the highway, hassle free.”

The radio ads will air in Brisbane on 97.3 over the next two weeks.
