Cannes Lions 2024 recap: Brittany Benitez

Thinkerbell creative tinker Brittany Benitez was one of three Aussies selected to take part in the Cannes Creative Academy, a certificate programme designed to catapult younger creatives to the next level of their careers. Here, Benitez shares her highlights exclusively for CB.

Sorry not sorry…yet another Cannes Lions recap to add to the list!

Currently crying that it’s all over, but what a crazy week! Just four hours after landing, the excitement was real that I managed to sprain my ankle. Now, I have a souvenir that will last another 4-6 weeks, putting me in the small percentage of people who visited the first aid tent!

Cannes Lions Creative Academy 2024 was a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Many people don’t know about this amazing opportunity but I was one of five in the world lucky enough to score a scholarship to attend. You can find out more about it here.

To sum it up, 30 under-30 creatives are are selected to learn from the industry’s finest through intimate workshops where we can ask anything, collaborate, and have fun. Some guests that were stand outs were: Shingy, Jorge Calleja, Chris Duffey & Kelsey Hodgkin.

The week was filled with highs, but the ultimate highlight was coming out the other end with 29 talented friends from around the globe.

If anyone asks me what I learned, please give me 4-5 business days to respond—there was A LOT! However, here are a few nuggets of wisdom that stood out:

Read Ikigai: If you haven’t read it yet, add it to your must-read list ASAP.
Silence that inner negative voice: We all have it, and it’s a barrier to our potential.
Don’t let anyone steal your joy

& you can absolutely function on no sleep!
