bp Australia and New Zealand appoints Bastion as new social media partner
Bastion has added bp Australia and New Zealand to its growing social client roster, appointed as the brand’s social media partner across both markets following a competitive review.
The significant regional win will see Bastion lead bp’s social presence, bringing together social strategy, content, creators, community management and social listening under one connected approach across Australia and New Zealand.
The appointment builds on continued momentum for Bastion’s Social, Content & Community offering, which works across brands including ALDI, TAB, Suntory, SunRice and Cancer Institute NSW, in some cases independently and others, as part of Bastion’s broader integrated client relationships.
For bp, Bastion will work closely with local teams in both markets to execute social activity. Bastion will use audience insights to inform content, strengthen community engagement and identify opportunities for creators and partnerships, with an aim to demonstrate the breadth of bp’s customer offers across fuel, convenience, loyalty, partnerships and the onsite experiences.
Combining a strong regional strategy with dedicated expertise on the ground in Australia and New Zealand, Bastion will create greater consistency across bp’s channels while creating meaningful connections with audiences.
Says Paul Isbell, Head of Social, Content and Community at Bastion: “Winning bp across Australia and New Zealand is a significant endorsement of our Social, Content & Community offering and the role social and content can play in driving business growth.
This goes beyond managing channels. It’s about using social and content strategically to demonstrate bp’s value from fuel and convenience to loyalty and experience while building stronger customer relationships. Bastion and bp are united in an ambition for what social and content can deliver for the bp business and we’re incredibly excited to help see it realised.”
Says Sarah Wilson, Brand & Communications Senior Manager, ANZ at bp: “Social plays an important role in how we connect with customers and bring the bp experience to life beyond our sites. Bastion brings the strategic thinking, creative capability and local market understanding to help us show up in a more connected and relevant way across Australia and New Zealand. We’re excited to work together to strengthen engagement with our communities and demonstrate the value bp offers across fuel, convenience, loyalty and partnerships.”
bp’s appointment continues Bastion’s momentum across Australia and New Zealand, combining the agility of an independent with the scale and capability of a global network to deliver integrated solutions for clients across the region.
