Blueberry Markets connects SailGP and trading in new original content mini-series via Augusto
Blueberry Markets and creative agency Augusto launched Pursuit, a six-part original content mini-series following Australia’s SailGP Team, the Bonds Flying Roos, exploring what it really takes to perform when the pressure is on.
Developed as the creative expression of Blueberry Markets’ partnership with the Flying Roos, Pursuit finds the unexpected connections between elite sailing and trading. Not by explaining them, but by letting the stories reveal them.
These are sailing stories that play like trading stories.
Across six approximately three-minute episodes, Pursuit explores the decisions, behaviours and mindset behind high performance, drawing on real experiences from the Flying Roos and the moments where preparation, judgement and execution can make the difference.
The approach was deliberately built for Blueberry’s core audience. Rather than spelling out the parallels between SailGP and trading, the series trusts the audience to recognise for themselves the choices made under pressure, the consequences that follow, and the realities of risk, uncertainty, control and execution.
Says Adam Terrey, Creative and Brand Director, Blueberry Markets: “We wanted to do more with the Flying Roos partnership than simply put our logo on a boat. Pursuit gave us an opportunity to explore what really sits beneath elite performance. The decisions, instincts, discipline and restraint that determine what happens when the pressure is on. Those behaviours are deeply relevant to our audience, but we didn’t want to explain the connection. We wanted people to see it for themselves.”
Says Cass Avery, Executive Producer and Director, Augusto: “The Blueberry SailGP and Flying Roos partnership gave us an extraordinary foundation for storytelling. Sport has all the ingredients of great stories, heroes, high stakes and people achieving the almost unimaginable, and SailGP adds an incredible visual spectacle and sense of speed. Working with the Flying Roos on the water and Blueberry in the boardroom gave us the opportunity to turn all of that into something with real narrative depth. Pursuit was a pretty exciting story to tell.”
Says Leon Kirkbeck, Founder and CEO, Augusto: “The opportunity with Pursuit was to find a genuine connection between two worlds that, on the surface, couldn’t be more different. At the highest level, trading and SailGP are both environments where decisions have consequences, information is imperfect and the ability to perform under pressure matters. We didn’t want to force a metaphor between the two worlds. We wanted to build stories where the connection is simply felt. That respects the intelligence of the audience and lets the moments do the work.”
With Pursuit, Blueberry’s partnership with the Flying Roos moves beyond traditional sponsorship content to create an original narrative platform built around the mindset shared by elite performers and Blueberry’s audience.
Episode One, Drawdown, launched on Friday 7 August, with the remaining five episodes rolling out across Blueberry’s channels.
