Black T-Shirts podcast chats with Unilever global chief of transformation Nicky Sparshott

Adam Ferrier and Brent Smart have returned for series 3 of their podcast Black T-Shirts, the only podcast in the world dedicated to XXL creativity for business. This week’s guest for season 3 is Nicky Sparshott, Unilever global chief of transformation.

Sparshott was a marketer for companies such as Unilever and The Coca-Cola Company, before becoming CEO of T2, and then CEO of Unilever Australia and New Zealand.  Under her tenure Unilever undertook some very significant transformations including moving the entire business to a 4 day working week, and also guiding Unilever to become the largest company anywhere in the world to achieve B Corp status.

The conversation looks at how Nicky was able to achieve these significant initiatives, and the role that creativity, and a marketing mindset and skill set played.   The conversation also touches on the changing nature of the workforce, the role of ‘purpose’ in business, and finally, the role of the CMO and the natural transition to CEO in brand led businesses. It appears to be becoming increasingly common (at least to Adam).

All episodes of Black T-Shirts will be available via premium podcast creators MIK Made.  Listeners will also be able to hear all episodes of the Black T-Shirts podcast played in their entirety on Disrupt Radio, available on DAB+.

Adam Ferrier is the founder of award winning creative agency Thinkerbell, Brent Smart is CMO at one of the worlds largest telecommunications companies, Telstra. Black T-Shirts can be found here.
