Bestads Best TV of the Week: Lyft’s “Save the Money” via Zulu Alpha Kilo, Canada

Each week Bestadsontv.com [the global arm of Campaign Brief] showcases standout global advertising work as reviewed by a top international creative director or team. This week’s best film is Lyft’s “Save the Money” via Zulu Alpha Kilo, Canada.

The film was selected by this week’s guest judge Erica Henderson, Creative Director, INNOCEAN USA.

“I didn’t know where this was going, and that’s why I loved it,” says Henderson. “So often, the punchline or the product is obvious a mile away, and you tune out just a few seconds in because why bother? Not so here.

“The agency, Zulu Alpha Kilo, crafted a bleak world that pulls you in before deftly pivoting in the final moments. The cinematography was beautiful, and the attention to detail, such as the worn crease running through the dollar bill, was fantastic.”

Developed with Zulu Alpha Kilo (Z.A.K.), the new campaign film directed by Jeff Low through OPC Production, follows an abandoned dollar bill as it wanders through harsh urban environments as a voiceover pleads for riders to save the money by donating a few seconds of their time to checking Lyft to see if the price is lower.
