Bart Pawlak takes ECD role at 303 MullenLowe Sydney following departure of Scott Huebscher
303 MullenLowe Sydney has appointed former VMLY&R executive CD Bart Pawlak as its new ECD following the departure of Scott Huebscher in April, after only nine months in the role. Pawlak has been working with the agency over the last four months, leading the department over this period.
Pawlak is an awarded Creative Director and writer with two decades of experience working within the major advertising networks, most recently as Executive Creative Director of VMLY&R Sydney, a position he held for four and a half years until April this year.
He has regularly helped create highly effective ‘behaviour change’ campaigns for the Government, tackling issues such as driver fatigue (Don’t Trust Your Tired Self), motorcycle safety (Ride To Live), infrastructure developments (Tomorrow’s Sydney) and childhood vaccination (Save The Date To Vaccinate), to name a few.He has also been responsible for re-launching both well-known and contemporary Australian brands, ranging from NRMA motoring to Menulog.
Over the years, his work has received recognition at all major award shows, including D&AD, Cannes Lions, Clio, New York Festivals, Spikes, One Show, Award and Effies. A believer in the power of creative thinking to inspire positive change in the world, his proudest career achievement to date, was working with former US Vice-President Al Gore, creating a global campaign that, for the first time ever, saw children address the UN General Assembly, as ambassadors of the future.
“We are delighted Bart has agreed to join us. He is a wonderful talent who is a perfect complement to our culture. He has been a pleasure to work with and has demonstrated his leadership and creative capabilities. He brings a breadth of experience and an ambition to continue to build the agency’s creative successes,” said Joanna Gray Managing Director 303 MullenLowe.
“Bart joins a senior and settled creative offering including long serving Creative Directors Adam Whitehead and Sean Larkin and will partner up with Richard Berney, ECD of 303 MullenLowe Perth,” continued Gray.
Says Pawlak: “I am delighted to join a group of talented and fun people and an agency with a unique combination of creative, media and data skills. The agency’s long held belief in the power of these three disciplines, which it calls its brand trinity, provides a powerful platform to create game changing ideas. Also, with an array of amazing brands to work with it’s a genuinely exciting opportunity.”

A gentleman and a scholar. Good luck my friend
Congrats my friend. They are lucky to have you. Onward.
The career span of an ECD at Lowe is getting shorter and shorter. Why not just bite the bullet and hire them by the week.
Nice one Bart, a gent, and a great creative mind. Great hire
Bart is one of the good ones. Congrats mate. On and up!
Congrats Bart! Awesome news.
Bart is a beautiful man with big ideas and a sincere concern for the people around him. Great hire 303. I’m sure he’ll take you to 403. Or maybe even 503.
Congrats Bart, hope all is well.

Boom Boom
Theres only so many times you can blame the ECD.
Now we have to pitch against Remi and Bart? Boo!… but congrats to Cleaver and the 303 team.
Lucky creative teams! you just won the ECD game. Congrats Bart x
Must be hard to keep up. New ECD there every 6mths.
Why not just get freelancers in. As stable it would appear.
One of the best.
Congratulations to a genuinely good bloke.
Onya Bart.
Thats like 4 ECD’s in 3 years. Great place to work.
Squeak.
Scott didn’t last long in the 303ML revolving door. What happened there?
The feeling you’ve seen this position vacated before.
Very smart bloke, with a gift for story telling. Kick arse Bart.
Smart hire 303. Nice work Bartosz! Couldn’t be happier for you.
@Tommy Dee. So true. A gifted writer indeed. Rare.
Good on you, Bart. Good luck matey!
Worked with Bart as a client. Not only a talented creative but a damn nice fella. Good luck on your new adventure.
They go through CDs like underwear (ok, homeless person’s undies) The Best way to look at it for any CD there is that it’s a long freelance stint, nothing more.
Lucky 303. Congrats Bart, well deserved.
Will change things for the better. He’s a great dude.
Good on 303 for getting Bart, great creative & great person to work with
Genuinely one of my favourite creatives to have worked with.
Onya fella.
