Banter wins Lessn as Grown-Up Social builds momentum

Independent engagement marketing agency Banter has been appointed as Lessn’s full-service social agency, adding the fast-growing business payments brand to its Grown-Up Social roster.

Effective from 1 October, Banter will help Lessn build awareness and connect with Australian business owners and finance teams through the everyday realities of running a business.

Lessn turns everyday business payments into rewards points, cashflow and intelligence, while moving money faster and more securely. Just 18 months into its journey, the business is approaching $200 million in turnover.

Says Paul Den, Co-Founder, Banter: “Lessn has built something genuinely exciting in a short space of time. Our job is to bring the same ambition and personality to its social presence.

“There’s plenty of opportunity to have fun with the realities of running a business, without losing sight of the commercial challenges business owners face. We’re excited to get stuck in with David, Annie, Simon and the broader Lessn team.”

Led by Kent Pearson, formerly of Connecting Plots and TBWA, Grown-Up Social launched in February and has since delivered work for My Muscle Chef, Chefgood, Adora Fertility, Titan and Pappa Flock.

Says Kent Pearson, Head of Content, Connections & Social, Banter: “Someone recently asked if I was too old to work in social. Apparently, experience now needs defending.

“Social is serious business. CMOs want it to earn attention, build a recognisable brand and give people a reason to care. That takes experience and judgement. Knowing which trends to play with, which to leave alone and what your brand can make its own.

“That’s the thinking behind Grown-Up Social. What happens when you put people with serious experience behind a brand and give them permission to have some fun? We think more CMOs should find out.”
