AZK Media appoints Nigel Bowen as new senior content and communications specialist

Global B2B integrated media and marketing firm AZK Media has appointed Nigel Bowen as its senior content and communications specialist.

AZK Media specialises in driving customer demand and business growth for the world’s fastest-growing B2B technology enterprises, especially those looking to make a ‘big splash’ in the APAC region. Bowen’s appointment will strengthen the agency’s cross-border capability across the UK/EMEA, US and APAC and its reputation for delivering premium content.

A seasoned communications professional, Bowen was most recently acting editor of CHOICE Computer. He spent a decade working as a print journalist, and his work has been published in CHOICE, CEO Magazine, GQ, INTHEBLACK, The Guardian, Smart Company, The Mandarin, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Drum.

After transitioning into content marketing, Bowen created content for the likes of ANZ, American Express, Austrade, BBC StoryWorks, Event Hub, HP, Kyndryl, Lenovo, Mercer, Macquarie University, NAB, MYOB and RSM.

Azadeh Williams, founder and managing director at AZK Media, says Bowen’s appointment will further empower the agency’s innovative solutions, which integrate inbound marketing, communications and public relations for their growing suite of global B2B technology clients: “Given the profound disruption now roiling all communications-related industries, and the ever-increasing time pressure those journalists who still have a job are under, we believed hiring a talented content expert with a strong background in tech and business journalism was essential.

“It’s no longer an option for PR agencies to be complacent. That’s why we describe our business as an ‘integrated media and marketing firm’. With Nigel on board, we’ll be able to double down on scaling premium campaigns and generate even more attention-grabbing coverage for our clients in top-tier and tech publications.”

AZK Media’s business director, Wayne Williams, says Bowen’s appointment is timely given the agency’s ambitious plans for the new financial year:” “We recently launched the video-production arm of our business, Customer Catalyst. We’ve also just inked some deals with high-profile industry figures and tech businesses and it’s clear premium content is more critical than ever in campaign success. With Nigel on board, there’s even more opportunity to scale up the business.”

Says Bowen: “Azadeh and I move in the same tech-industry circles and were ‘online friends’ for years. I didn’t expect to end up working for AZK Media, but life as a content creator is endlessly unpredictable. I’m confident the AZK Media team will be clever and agile enough to seize the opportunities arising as the media, PR and marketing industries, and maybe even the tech industry itself, are reconfigured beyond recognition. The next few years will be a wild ride for everybody, but AZK Media is well-placed to navigate the tidal waves of technological change now pounding down with increasing frequency.”
