Australian students score D&AD New Blood Pencils across three universities

Australian students have made their mark on the global stage, with multiple teams awarded coveted Pencils at this year’s D&AD New Blood Awards in London.

Across three institutions – TAFE NSW Design Centre Enmore, University of Technology Sydney and a collaborative team spanning RMIT University, Monash University and RMIT University Vietnam – emerging creatives were recognised for standout responses to this year’s global briefs.

From TAFE NSW Design Centre Enmore, Christina Zabolotny, Sheree Pickering, Miriam Saleh and Lillielle Pickering were awarded for their take on the Canesten brief with ‘Mary Had a Little Itch’.

At the University of Technology Sydney, Zeke Cuthbert-Masia, James Campbell, Joel Stevenson, Joel Brevig and Lucien Yumru earned recognition for ‘Rabbithole’, created in response to the Monotype x Penguin Random House brief.

Meanwhile, a cross-campus team of Thu Tra Nguyen, Thanh Tam Nguyen, Tan Thinh Huynh and Khanh Linh Chu from RMIT University, Monash University and RMIT University Vietnam were recognised for ‘See The Red. Spot The Risk.’, developed for Novartis.

All winning teams will now await the announcement of Pencil levels at the New Blood Awards Ceremony in London later this month, with eligibility also extended to the prestigious D&AD New Blood Academy—an intensive programme designed to fast-track the next generation of creative talent into the industry.
