Aussie expat and former R/GA New York VP/ECD Derek Green joins TBWA\Raad Dubai as new CCO

Aussie expat Derek Green has joined TBWA\Raad, Dubai as its new Chief Creative Officer.

 

Green arrives at TBWA\Raad after over five years in the U.S working most recently as VP and Executive Creative Director at R/GA New York where he spent a number of years as the creative lead on the Samsung Global business helping Samsung achieve no.5 brand in Interbrand’s Top Global Brands (the first non-US brand to do so) and created the new global platform ‘Life opens up with Galaxy’. Prior to R/GA, Derek enjoyed a 10-month stint at We Are Unlimited.

Green has over 30 years of international experience, with extensive 360 work for QSR brands like McDonald’s US, where he was ECD at We Are Unlimited Chicago and previously ECD at Ogilvy Sydney, where he led KFC and other key businesses – AMEX, IBM, Lion Breweries, Nestle, Coca-Cola and Kimberly-Clark to name just a few.

Prior to his role at Ogilvy, Green served as SVP, ECD at Cramer-Krasselt in Chicago, which was named Most Effective Independent Agency at the 2014 North American EFFIEs. His work has won Gold Effies in both Australia and the wider APAC region, as well as Gold and Silver Cannes Lions across three continents.

In a LinkedIn post, Green wrote: “Thank you Reda Raad [CEO, TBWA\Raad, Dubai] for inviting me to partner with you as Chief Creative Officer. I’m excited to be in this pirate ship with my creative leadership partners Santiago Cuesta and Frederico Roberto [ECDs] together with all of the wonderful TBWA RAAD leadership team and pirates in the UAE, Lebanon and KSA.
