Aussie agency Atomic 212° takes biggest awards haul ever at the 2016 international Shorty Awards
Australian full service agency Atomic 212° has scored eight gongs at the highly prestigious Shorty Awards, which is the world’s largest exclusively digital awards program.
When compared with all previous Shorty Awards, the impressive haul is on par with the Shortys record. In other words, no other agency has won more awards at the Shortys than Atomic 212°. This is the strongest result any Australian agency or business has ever achieved in the digital awards program.
Atomic 212° won the Small Agency of the Year award, which marks the first time an Australian agency has taken out any agency award. The agency’s highly publicised campaign ‘Lucy the Robot’ featured prominently in the awards as well, taking out the grand prizes for Consumer Brand Award, Media Buying Strategy Award and Technology Award.
Meanwhile, the company won a Gold Distinction in Retail and E-Commerce; a Silver Distinction in Integrated and Creative Use of Technology; and a Bronze Distinction in Television.
Says Jason Dooris, chief executive, Atomic 212°: “This is an amazing result. I couldn’t be happier with the work the team is producing. This massive haul is testament to the great work coming out of Atomic 212°.”
The Shorty Awards recognise the best of the best in digital marketing, honouring the influencers, brands and companies that dominate in digital and social media. The winners are chosen by a combination of public votes and scores given by judges.
Atomic 212° has been on an impressive awards run of late. The agency recently won AdNews Media Agency of the Year and Campaign Independent Agency of the Year.

easily the worst written press release of all time. Just read that second paragraph to yourself out loud. It’s painful.
Because no one from Australia enters them.
The largest is in fact the webbys and also the most prestigious – guys, check your or releases they are getting pretty desperate at one a day.
Isn’t that the photo of the staff member using the technology because no consumers did?
Great work on winning so many at the Shortys – seriously good achievement – potentially undermined by press releases about staff members being able to take their chairs outside.
“When compared with all previous Shorty Awards, the impressive haul is on par with the Shortys record. In other words, no other agency has won more awards at the Shortys than Atomic 212°.” This needs to be on a t-shirt
It sounds messed up because they’ve only equaled the record, and they’re trying to make it sound like they have it outright.
They won because they deserved it and were chosen by a panel of judges, let’s celebrate an independent agencies successes instead of trying to pull them down.
