AiCandy joins m25 network with aim to accelerate AI filmmaking across APAC

Regional producer-led network m25 has partnered with Sydney-based AI-powered film production company AiCandy, expanding its AI filmmaking capabilities across Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Founded by creative and production duo Marcus Tesoriero and Kent Boswell, AiCandy brings together a global roster of AI film directors and experienced filmmakers, producers and AI specialists.

The company was established to explore how generative AI can expand traditional filmmaking, with storytelling, direction, performance, cinematography, production design, editing and sound remaining central to its approach.

“AI is just a tool,” says Boswell. “The idea still matters. Storytelling still matters. Taste still matters. Craft still matters. What excites us is that filmmakers now have an entirely new creative language to work with.”

Tesoriero, a former CCO with senior roles at Dentsu, Ogilvy, DDB and McCann, said AI filmmaking is creating new opportunities for agencies and brands to bring ambitious ideas to life with fewer traditional production constraints.

“Creativity has now become the great equaliser. It’s less about how much budget you have and more about how powerful the idea is,” he said.

m25 founder Chris Thorp said AiCandy represents the type of forward-looking production partner the network is looking to bring to the region.

“Marcus and Kent understand the entire production arc, bringing experience from both agency and production sides. They haven’t just adopted AI — they’ve adapted decades of award-winning film craft into an AI-driven pipeline they have pioneered,” said Thorp.

AiCandy has already worked with agencies and brands across Europe, the US and APAC, including projects for the United Nations, Four Seasons Condoms and Mirakl.

Tesoriero said the partnership will allow AiCandy to expand its work across markets including China, Korea, Japan and the Philippines.

“We think there’s a huge opportunity for AiCandy to help agencies and brands in this region push ideas further and unlock what AI filmmaking can now make possible,” he said.

Thorp added: “We want to bring together partners who are defining where production is heading next. AiCandy is doing exactly that.”
