After a year spent making work for others Sunday Gravy airs a TVC for Sunday Gravy
Independent agency Sunday Gravy ran its own TV ad across the Seven Network during Christmas programming and the Boxing Day Test, some of the most watched moments on the holiday calendar.
The spot opens with something rarely said out loud in advertising: people don’t like ads. Real people, speaking plainly about their dislike for the category. The twist comes at the end, when they admit there’s one exception, anything made by Sunday Gravy.
“We spend most of our time helping brands earn attention,” says Sarah Raine, Managing Director at Sunday Gravy. “This was just us applying the same thinking to ourselves, and a reminder that advertising works best when it understands how people actually feel about it.”

It’s good to see people who run agencies are now starting to give a shit about their own brand. Congrats.
