After 14 years, James Mok, chief creative officer of FCB New Zealand and Asia-Pacific ECD, will be leaving the agency later this year to pursue consultancy opportunities.
Bryan Crawford, chairman FCB New Zealand, said that executive creative director Tony Clewett will continue to lead the creative department as he has for some time and that FCB anticipates announcing some exciting new additions to the creative team in the near future.
Under Mok’s leadership, FCB has created some of New Zealand’s most effective, enduring and iconic campaigns including PAK’nSAVE’s Stickman, Depression for the Ministry of Health, Mitre 10’s Sandpit and the recent Kong the Donkey campaigns, It’s Not OK Family Violence, multiple campaigns for Vodafone as well as the globally awarded Driving Dogs for Mini. In addition to his role in New Zealand, he has also provided creative leadership across the Asia Pacific region and the wider global FCB network.
Says Mok: “I’ve had an immensely rewarding time at FCB and now it feels like a good time to challenge myself again. I’m extremely proud to have helped FCB become New Zealand’s most effective integrated agency, and to have had the opportunity to work with international clients, creative leaders and teams around the FCB network.
“I’m grateful to have worked on some amazingly successful projects with many great clients, alongside a very talented and committed team. I leave knowing the culture is in rude health and there’s a great leadership team in place. Making change happen has always been my driving purpose, and with our industry evolving at pace, I’m excited to explore new opportunities to help brands and businesses grow. “
