Award-winning creative Rob Martin Murphy joins Commonwealth Bank as creative lead
Multi award-winning writer and creative director Rob Martin Murphy has joined Commonwealth Bank as creative lead.
Martin Murphy joins the Australian multinational bank following a number of years consulting to agencies and brands on various assignments in Australia and Asia.
Prior to his freelance work, Martin Murphy spent nearly six years at Ikon Communications as ECD where he helped build the full-service creative agency from the ground up. It was at Ikon where Martin Murphy began working with CommBank subsidiary Bankwest, creating and launching the successful ‘Bank Less’ brand platform through bespoke WPP AUNZ agency Union.
Before joining Ikon in June 2015 Martin Murphy was group executive creative director at Moon Group. Martin Murphy moved back to Australia in 2014 to take up the role at Moon.
His previous roles include working as national CD of The Furnace on brands such as Skins, Cadbury, Schweppes, RaboDirect, TAC and Peugeot. He left the agency in 2010 and relocated to Hamburg. In 2011, he co-founded his own startup, Betabüro, based in London. He then moved to Santiago in 2013 after receiving funding from StartUp Chile.
