Rob Martin Murphy to leave The Furnace

RMM.jpegEXCLUSIVE – Anthony Gregorio, CEO of The Furnace, announced today that National Creative Director, Rob Martin Murphy, will be leaving the agency early in 2010 to relocate overseas.

Rob is in the process of finalizing negotiations to take on a significant role within the Havas Group.

“We are almost at the final stages with these negotiations and hope to be able to announce where Rob will be going very soon. Suffice to say though it is a big role for Rob and one that is well deserved,” said Gregorio.

Rob began his advertising career as a writer. After successful stintsat Leo Burnett, JWT, The Ball Partnership and BAM SSB in Sydney, Robwas ECD of Euro RSCG Singapore/Malaysia from 2000 to 2005. He joinedThe Furnace in 2006.

During his time at The Furnace the agency has been awarded at Cannes, London International, Adfest and the Effies as well as being awarded at D&AD, CLIO, Communication Arts, NY Festivals and AWARD for the first time. Rob was also a judge at AWARD, the Caxtons and the London International Awards.

“Rob has been an amazing partner in helping push the agency brandforward.  More importantly he’s become a good friend and we’ll miss himbeing around every day. The beauty with the new role within the groupmeans we’ll still have access to the big bald bastard,” added Gregorio.

Rob Martin Murphy said, “I’ve enjoyed my time here at The Furnace andwill definitely miss the place. We’ve created some great work that I’mvery proud of and, most importantly, we’ve had a lot of fun doing it.I’ve got a couple of great projects to finish before I go, then I amlooking forward to getting overseas again and taking up a newchallenge.”
