cummins&partners enjoys stunning world first as Windsor Castle Hotel reopens for Friday lunch
Industry icon ‘The Windsor Carse’ has reopened for Friday lunch for the first time since Covid. A small group of lucky cummins&partners employees today welcomed back an old favourite, enjoying lunch in the sunny Windsor Castle beer garden after a long and solemn hiatus.
The charmingly grungy dive has long been the go-to for agency folk south of the river, often seeing five or more agencies representing in the same Friday arvo service. After being hit hard by Covid, the Windsor Castle Hotel is now back bigger and better with a new menu and the same rock and roll vibes.
Says Heath Collins, creative director, cummins&partners: “Every Friday afternoon as I angrily chewed through non-Windsor Castle parmas, I’d think back to the good old days when I was happily chewing through a Windsor Castle parma and for a moment, just a moment, the venomous hatred and rage that fuel my existence would subside. When I heard it was back I wept openly for several hours of important client meetings.”
The popular destination has been quiet about its reopening and it was by pure happenstance that the cummins group became aware of it as an option.
Says Matt Werkmeister, content director, cummins&partners: “We’d been enquiring every month or so, wondering if they’d reopen for Friday lunch and today when we rang they said they were reopening for Friday lunch TODAY. So as you can imagine, we all wept openly.”
The iconic venue will continue to be open for Friday lunch from here on, but only if enough people from adland get down there and give them a reason.
Says Michael McConville, global CEO, cummins&partners: “Seriously, you need to get down here, the parma is so good you’ll weep. Openly.”
So as the weather gets better, get your arses to the carse and let’s look at eachother uneasily across the courtyard once more.
See you there.

F#@K YEAH!!!!!
Great shout cummins & partners. Let the stare off begin.
A release like this commmnicates we are a long way from doing anything good but we have to work out a funny way to stay on campaign brief blog
@Nooooooo
You know this communicates the complete reverse to me!
A happy agency, strong culture and a sense of humour. They must be confident about something? Whereas you my friend…probably need a Parma. Or a Parmy.
Finally!
This joint wouldn’t let me and the lads in on my bucks night at 8pm because they’d painted my face like a member of KISS and the bouncers had a STRICT NO BUCKS policy.
So it’s the perfect venue for an industry that has forgotten how to have fun and be a bit weird.
This is a really nice thing to do. If anyone hasn’t ordered a side of gravy with their parma before I’d strongly recommend heading down this Friday and trying it out.
‘This place that has a ‘NO BUCKS’ policy would not let me in on my BUCKS PARTY so they suck’
Do….. do you realise how stupid you sound?
So you agree that it’s funny?
Change it to a Thursday lunch and I’m in.
Fun post.
Make sure Tiger gets the 1kg buffalo wings
See you there Cummins Crew… I’ll be eyeballing you across the garden whilst basking in the sunshine and smashing a parma. Thanks for the heads up it’s been way too long between lunches at this back street gem.
It’s a VIC pub, so parma thank you very much.
