After only eight months in the role Jerker Fagerström departs MD gig at Thinkerbell
After only eight months in the role, Jerker Fagerström has announced his departure from Thinkerbell where he held the role of managing director, Sydney.
Fagerström returned to Australia in December last year with his family from the Nordics to Sydney, where he was based for five years until August 2019.
Fagerström wrote in a LinkedIn post: “All good things must come to an end. Well this one barely got started. Unfortunately I no longer work at Thinkerbell. It was a new role to the agency and it simply did not work out. Thankful I got to know some awesome people, amazing clients and great partners. Onwards and upwards.”
A spokesperson from Thinkerbell told CB: “Jerker is a great guy and we thank him for his time with Thinkerbell and we wish him all the best.”
Fagerström’s career in Australia begun at WPP agency DT in 2014, where he was appointed to the role of executive creative director. 12 months later he joined McCann Sydney as ECD where he stayed for just under three years before returning home to Sweden.

Maybe if they hadn’t gone (fully) independent he would’ve stayed?
I love the honesty in this article Jerker. Good luck with whatever you do next.
If it was a multi-national agency he wouldn’t have been hired in the first place due to a hiring and pay rise freeze mandated from NYC/London
Has a creative ever become a managing director? They feel worlds apart in skills.
