This year Dan Murphy’s has the holidays handled in new Christmas campaign via Thinkerbell
Most Aussies have had a tough year for a number of reasons, not to mention being isolated from friends and family. This Holiday season, Australia’s most loved liquor retailer, Dan Murphy’s, is taking care of the drink deliveries and deliberations so you can get on with enjoying what really matters in a new campaign via Thinkerbell.
The ‘Definitely not an undercover Christmas operation’ sees a crack team from Dan Murphy’s taking care of everything from last minute gifts, to disastrous Christmas lunch pairings like oysters with Shiraz, and everything in between.
Says Utadi Murphy, head of marketing and loyalty at Dan Murphy’s: “This year we were looking for a platform that would create an emotional connection with Dan’s, as well as allow us to showcase our knowledge, value our quick, flexible delivery. Ultimately, giving customers a reason to think of us for their Christmas gifting & entertaining needs through discovery of our market leading range, whilst trying to raise a bit of a smile and bring some Xmas ‘tingles’ in what’s been a really tough year for all Australians. No mean feat but we think our Holidays Handled platform delivers on all levels.”

Says Tom Wenborn, executive creative tinker at Thinkerbell: “We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the Dan Murphy’s team to bring to life Holiday’s Handled. We hope everyone can spend more time relaxing with family and friends, instead of worrying about which Pinot Gris goes best with overcooked turkey.”
The Holidays Handled will roll out nationally across TV, digital, radio, out of home, social and in store to ensure all Australians can enjoy a much needed end of 2020.

Lovely
Another day
Another press release from Thinkerbell
Perhaps they could be more selective with what they choose to share?
I dare you to run it in Darwin.
That’s lovely Mitch. Looks like it was fun.
Oh, I get it. It’s like the Lamb ad last year but with alcohol. Similar gags too.
Nice copy and paste Thinkerbell.

Does Thinkerbell sponsor this website? They get a good run!
Dan Murphy was for decades a power brand with a very clear and differentiating positioning true to the legacy Personality of it’s founder. This work could be for any booze retailer. But who gives a f#!£ at Thinkerbell.
Let’s do a wacky ad Tinkers!!!
However Woolworths should care because they paid a fortune for the brand and all that it stands for.
Hey Thinkerbellers, if you’re going to copy someone else’s idea here’s a few tips.
1. Don’t do it within the same year.
2. Try not using the same gags.
3. Don’t use the same construct.
Or, ignore all the above and just be bloody original.

We did it better in 1992

Thinkerbell do great work on a consistent basis, hence appearing on CB.
this made me giggle. Shiraz paired with oysters. FOOLS.
Thinkerbell is the Campaign Brief equivalent of Ronnie Cheng commenting “hahahahahahahaha” on every Betoota Advocate post.
hahahahahahahaha
“Grab the Grog, not the Egg Nog.” Fuck me, he’s done it again. Pay me, ya dogs.
Nice score nice details nice work
I’m fascinated with Thinkerbell job titles. If ‘Tinker’ is their name for a creative, then in the credits here you have a Creative Creative, an Executive Creative Creative and a Chief Creative Creative…
Serious lack of tone in this idea – very, very generic stuff. “Holidays handled” is only slightly less generic than the sub, “shop your way”.
Can’t forget the tone, Thinkers.
