Uniting NSW/ACT appoints media agency Pivotus

Following a competitive pitch process, not-for-profit organisation Uniting NSW/ACT, has selected independent media agency Pivotus to lead its media strategy, planning, and buying operations.

The appointment marks a strategic evolution for Uniting, as it looks to bridge the gap between its extensive portfolio of services and current market awareness. Uniting required a partner capable of executing a sophisticated, full-funnel media approach across Aged Care, Retirement Living, Early Learning and further community services.

To meet these requirements, the Pivotus offering combines its own performance-led expertise with the strategic smarts and offline trading experience of Tortoise Shell Comms, led by industry veterans Rob Howes and Mat Rawnsley. This collaboration provides Uniting with a “dual-engine” approach leveraging world-class digital media operations alongside senior-led strategic planning and offline media buying.

Uniting NSW/ACT’s Chief Customer Officer, Stuart Crabb says: “Selecting the right media partner was about finding a team that understands our purpose and the diverse communities we serve. Pivotus stood out through their strategic thinking, curiosity and collaborative mindset, as well as a strong understanding of the breadth and complexity of our services. We’re excited to partner with them as we continue to strengthen customer connection, build awareness of the support available, and help more people access the services they need.”

Says Pivotus CEO, Michael Petersen: “This alliance delivers best-of-breed specialists to Uniting across their broad spectrum of strategy and campaign requirements. And having worked with Rob and Mat in the past, we knew that joining forces and offering the care and hands-on expertise that comes with a boutique indie agency would make our offering pretty compelling.”

Tortoise Shell Comms director Mat Rawnsley commented further: “This is exactly the kind of partnership and work we want to be doing, with Pivotus and, of course, Uniting. They’re a complex organisation desiring strategic simplification and better comms and media synergy across a very broad range of diverse services.”

Leading the Uniting NSW/ACT account across this partnership is Manon Gattolin at Pivotus, working alongside Howes and Rawnsley at Tortoise Shell Comms.

The agency relationship has officially commenced, with integrated campaigns already in market supporting Uniting’s service areas.
