28 entries from Australia make the cut at the shortlist stage of 23rd Annual Webby Awards

The nominees for The 23rd Annual Webby Awards have been announced and Australia has scored 28 nominations led by BWM Dentsu with four finalists followed by Cummins&Partners and The Monkeys with three finalists apiece.

 

BWM Dentsu has scored three nominations for The ALS Association ‘Project Revoice’ and one for Qantas ‘The Passport Take-Off’.

Cummins&Partners has been nominated for Australian Secret Intelligence Service ‘The Most Interesting Job Interview’, Specsavers ‘The Error Ridden Ad’ and MADC ‘Meet Grant’, whilst The Monkeys has received two nominations for UNICEF ‘Give a minute of your time’ and one for Berlei ‘Stop your boobs playing their own game’.

Australian agencies scoring two nominations each include Marcel Sydney for Tiger ‘Rare Stripes’ with Good Company and Tinder #RepresentLove with M Booth; CHE Proximity for Cochlear ‘Hearprint’ and Carsales.com.au ‘AutoAds’; Clemenger BBDO Sydney for Tourism Australia ‘Aussie News Today’ and Extra ‘Support Acts’; VMLY&R with two for Alexa Lifeline and whiteGREY with two for MPAN ‘Invisible Friends’.

Agencies with one nomination include Leo Burnett Melbourne for Honda HR-V ‘We are not the same’; Leo Burnett Sydney for Samsung ‘TIMVITE’; Deloitte Digital for ‘Lucy’, Sydney Opera House for ‘Oscars of the internet’; Studio Bravo! for Melbourne International Arts Festival 2018; MightyNice for Sprinklr ‘Square Peg’, Jumbla for Headspace ‘Lucy’s Story’ and Hardhat for Deakin University ‘Mind Racer’.

Tourism Australia’s ‘Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home’ campaign with Droga5 New York has picked up three nominations.

The 23rd Annual Webby Awards will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

The Webby Awards is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the Internet, including Websites, Video, Advertising, Media & PR, Apps, Mobile, and Voice, Social, Podcasts, and Games. Established in 1996, this year’s Webby Awards received nearly 13,000 entries from all 50 states and 70 countries worldwide this year. The Webby Awards is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS).
