2010 MADC call for entries now open – and thanks to ‘Anonymous’ for this year’s Awards’ theme
The call for entries for the Melbourne advertising and design industry’s best night of the year is now officially open. Appropriately, the theme for this year’s MADC Awards is based on the debate and blog feedback that seems to follow the creation of great work.
So the campaign has real comments taken from the Campaign Brief Blog, all contributed under the guise of ‘Anonymous’. Accordingly, the MADC would like to thank 6:09, 8:23, 11:17 and all the other brave contributors for providing the content for this campaign.
MADC President Richard Ralphsmith said that whilst the awards theme pokes fun at the negative comments we’ve all seen and read, it is really about celebrating the positives of the industry: “Great ideas silence the critics. The MADC Awards recognise the people behind truly great ideas like these,” says Ralphsmith.
If you think your work’s got what it takes to silence Anonymous, enter at www.madc.com.au by June 4.
George Patterson Y&R created the Anonymous theme, written by AnnieEgan and art directed by Ryan Fitzgerald. Executive creative director:Ben Coulson.

Ha ha ha. Nice one Ben
Gotta pay that one, well done.
Worst ad ever. Terrible. Made me vomit. Please god make it die!
now that’s funny
Hehe.
The ‘let it die’ comment was mine.
It was referring to Earth Hour.
Total crap…I hate everything…
hahahahahaha
8.20, I second your comment. Earth Hour should die.
How clever.
A concept fed by the worst elements of our industry. And the nastier you get, the more the point is made.
I love the irony.
As far as posterity, and the general public is concerned, everyone in the entire advertising industry is largely ‘Anonymous’.
The fictional characters in Mad Men are probably better known.
Ironic indeed.
Nice one Ryan
nice one Annie 🙂
When stuff wins on the night I’d love to see the Anon comments on the big screen at the same like like for Schweppes Burst:

It goes to show how out of touch the Australian advertising community is when they applaud a pretentious thing like this and slam Commonwealth bank, which the public seem to really like.
You are ad people, not artists.

Nothing.
Would be great if the link worked. Or MADC site was up to date.
I’d like to see these win on the night, to complete the irony.
Where’s one of my brilliant quotes?
Well done guys. Really nice thinking. Shows that we can laugh at ourselves…a bit.
I hate the fact that I love it.
do i get royalties for using my quotes ?
Makes me feel even a little weirder writing this blog before I go to work. Maybe they are suggesting that what I am doing right now isn’t the best way to fuel my career?
Nah.
Best genuine idea i’ve seen in ages.
But are we turning bloggers into heros? I wait. i’m a blogger??
My head hurts!
I hate the fact I haven’t got anything bad to say
Well done Annie. Lovely work.
Well said Ben, hopefully shut up a few of your jealous critics.
Ha ha classic.
Best awards theme I’ve seen for a while…
Ha ha
