Clems Sydney pips Clems Melbourne. The times they are a changing.
Indeed they are.
But radio shortlists feel like a hollow victory don’t they?
Enjoy those sour grapes bud.
Overall that’s a shit tonne of Clems evweywhere. Add CHEP and it’s going to be a good night to stay home and watch the living room!
Not sour at all! Well done Clems Sydney.
Just saying I’d imagine the moment would be sweeter for Sydney if their number of finalists wasn’t inflated by all those radio entries.
A fair comment I think.
A mix of integrated, direct, digital or innovation finalists would surely be more pleasing and a more telling commentary on an agency kicking creative goals.
Looks like a good spread of work this year. Should be a good night
As long as radio remains a category, as long as client keep buying radio, radio remains as legitimate as integrated.
I think the point is that winning in radio is like winning at the country races.
The main event is elsewhere and so the competitive field is much weaker than other categories.
It’s a win, but not one to be all that proud of.
Man, you are a sad sack
All the Bobs = never written a radio ad, or never written a good one.
Don’t under estimate the power of a good radio ad. Gary Sleeman (RIP) was the master. I worked with him for many a year and as a producer he taught me how to pull a decent radio ad together. When he was involved it was pretty easy to get a good result. Humor of course must play a pivotal role…

over 70 finalists between Sydney, Melbourne and CHEP
Well, Clems Sydney have 17 other finalists across “real” categories (in your eyes). I think they’ll be fine…
