Former Huge Europe creative director Andy Thomas joins Re as executive creative director
Design agency Re, part of the M&C Saatchi Group, has appointed Andy Thomas to the role of executive creative director.
The appointment signals a shift in direction for the agency as it looks to extend beyond its current core branding capabilities and under Thomas’ stewardship, branch out into a broader experience design offering which includes digital products and services and connected retail spaces.
This new positioning will draw from Thomas’ more than 20 years of experience in design and communications. He has held leadership positions in London, New York, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne. He was the founding creative director of Huge London and most recently was Huge’s executive experience director for the wider European market.
Throughout his career, he has led projects across a variety of sectors including fashion, luxury, entertainment, sports and travel with a client list including Nike Europe, SK-II, L’Oreal, Diageo, Hublot, Credit Suisse and Four Seasons.
Says Patrick Guerrera, CEO of Re: “We have been searching globally for an ECD with Andy’s depth of experience across brand and experience design. As we embrace our design roots and look to evolve our business, I can’t think of a better creative leader to drive this exciting new phase of growth.”
Says Thomas: “There is a vast opportunity for Re to venture into this broader design space. Globally, few agencies are able to deliver great branding and compelling experiences that are genuinely useful. I’m absolutely thrilled to join the talented team at Re as we build the next chapter.”
