Countdown to Cannes: Entries close TODAY for Snapchat Young Lions Competition Australia
Entries close at 5pm TODAY (March 29) for the 2019 Snapchat Young Lions Competition, which for Australia will cover Media, Digital and Marketer, three of the seven Young Lions categories.
Now in its eleventh year, the Young Lions competition searches for the best young talent in the media, marketing and creative industries to represent Australia at the 2019 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June.
All entries will be assessed by a team of over 60 high profile industry judges, with successful entrants taking part in a second round 24-hour brief.
Winners of the second and final round will go on to represent Australia at the 66th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity from 17-21 June, 2019.

…where’s the creative section?
Hear hear. Where the print at??
It’s definitely a shame to not have the creative categories.
Also, surely $275 is a bit much to expect junior teams to pay? Wouldn’t the point of having a sponsor be to make this a nominal expense in the interest of fostering creativity?
Pretty sure the same thing happened last year as well – would have been cool if they addressed the category issue for 2019
Entry fees have gone up 60+ percent, they’ve reduced the categories, hidden the brief behind a registration form and only launching in Sydney, neglecting the rest of the states once again.
What has happened to Young Lions?
This is primarily designed to develop young talent right – I can’t afford to enter this.
It’s really strange that I—as a junior—am having to pay money for what is essentially spec work.
I know Instagram has probably hurt Snap’s bottom line, but $275 is a bit ridiculous.
