Vince Usher.jpgTwo months after achieving the ‘Top Dog’ award at Miami Ad School’s Creative Strategy boot camp, Vince Usher has been appointed as a planner by Clemenger BBDO. His previous role was as a strategist at Ikon Communications.

Usher won three ‘Best Campaign’ awards in Miami Ad School’s Creative Strategy boot camp for his work on briefs in the automotive, craft beer and travel categories.

Says Usher: “I’m ridiculously keen to join one of Sydney’s top creative agencies. It wouldn’t have happened without the boot camp. Balancing full time work with four nights a week at Miami, live briefs on the weekends, and beers at the cricketers was a hard graft – but worth every minute. Let’s see if I can keep my promise to Lil and melt some minds at the big one.”

Says Lilian Sor, chief strategy officer, Clemenger BBDO: “The importance of helping shepherd and develop the next generation of home-grown strategic talent shouldn’t be underestimated. A huge credit to Miami Ad School for running such a valuable program, and to Vince for throwing his passion, energy and smarts at everything that he was tasked with and more. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome him to our planning crew.”

The 12-week Creative Strategy Boot Camp consists of weekly evening workshops taught by Sydney’s senior strategists and creatives. It is designed to accelerate the career of planners, brand strategists, creatives, social media managers and account managers. Participants acquire strategic and creative skills in hands-on sessions at Sydney’s leading ad agencies.
