Mars launches second instalment of its new ‘Enough Chocolate to Deal With Anything’ brand campaign via Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne
Mars Australia and Clemenger BBDO Melbourne have today launched the second instalment of its ‘Enough Chocolate to Deal with Anything’ platform, titled Kissers.
Following on from the launch spot, Kissers continues to showcase how the iconic chocolate bar can provide Australians with the confidence they need to overcome even the most awkward situations.
The TVC showcases the uncomfortable first meeting of a loved-one’s parents, who quickly admit to being a family of ‘kissers’. As the new boyfriend leans in for a peck on the cheek from his girlfriend’s mum, it’s evident what the family meant when they said they were kissers, as the mum plants a firm kiss on the lips on the boyfriend, quickly followed by the dad.
The boyfriend is then seen happily enjoying a Mars Bar with his shocked girlfriend standing beside him, while the mother announces grandma has arrived.
Says Suzanne Morrison, marketing director, Mars Wrigley Confectionery: “Being kissed on the lips by your new girlfriend’s parents is not a situation anyone wants to get stuck in. Luckily this guy had a Mars bar on hand to help deal with it.
“Mars and Clemenger BBDO have designed the new brand creative to show Australians how the chocolate bar can provide the confidence they need to overcome any future awkward situations.”
The new brand platform has launched through 15′ second TVC’s, 6′ bumpers, OOH, social, digital as well as a roll out of activations over the coming months.

It was better when SNL did it half a decade ago.
Nothing quite like a ‘gay panic’ joke.
How progressive.
Yes, realise they aren’t lovers, but it’s still on the nose.
Ew, two men kissing… Cut away, cut away.
I still reckon the ‘enough chocolate’ positioning incorrectly represents the fudgy, caramelly gooey charms of this chocolate-coated product.
I’d like to see the background info which led to this odd strategy.
Call me old-fashioned, but the executions, it seems, are simply a platform for recycled jokes which have little relevance to the product.
It’s like the brief was ‘we want a ‘you’re not you when you’re hungry, but just a god awful version with no real insight and poor execution’.
I’d almost forgotten about Clemenger Melbourne.
Tough brief. Better than most 15 second ads.
