M&C Saatchi chief creative officer Andy DiLallo departs agency to spend more time with family
M&C Saatchi Sydney has announced the departure of its chief creative officer Andy DiLallo. DiLallo, who has been an instrumental part of the business for close to two years, has decided to spend more time with his young family.
For anyone who knows the year DiLallo has had, this couldn’t be closer to the truth.
DiLallo, one of the most awarded creative directors in the region, was previously at Leo Burnett, joining as joint ECD (together with Jay Benjamin, his creative partner at the time) in April 2008 from Saatchi & Saatchi New Zealand.
Says Jaimes Leggett, CEO, M&C Saatchi: “We’re gutted to see Andy go. He’s a brilliant creative and a top bloke. I’d personally like to thank him for always championing the work. I have no doubt that he’ll go on to do great things in his next creative endeavour.”
Says DiLallo: “When Jaimes and the partners invited me to take M&C’s already formidable creative reputation to the next level, I accepted with honour. Now I leave a creative department I believe is unmatched in this country and a culture of innovation that makes me truly proud of what we’ve collectively achieved. For me it’s now time to refocus my energies from professional, to personal. I leave M&C knowing that their clients are in the best shape and that the future is exciting for both of us.”

Award winning idea. Nothing more important than that. Best of luck and fun to you Andy.
So can I back home now? Please?
Hmmm.
Sad, only lasted less than 18 months
So can we go camping and fishing now?
Benjamin. DiLallo
has such a nice ring to it.
Cha Ching!
Andy Dilallo that is the best headline ever written about you. Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy life. Jeffrey
The King will return.
Was never going to last that long.
Bloody great decision Andy, well done. Nothing is more important than family. All the best for the future x
I want B&T back.not talking about the magazine.
Who’s replacing?
Nagy? Spiller? A lot of news in the last little while.
There’s no requirement for a CCO position at 99% of Aussie agencies.
Certainly not at M&C.
Oh, did M&C have a Chief Creative Officer? Then who approved the Woolies work?
All sarcasm aside, being a creative and a Creative Director are totally different jobs.
And being CCO is another level of bullshit above CD.
Andy was a brilliant creative when he was doing those funny little award-winning ads with Jay Benjamin at Saatchis after they first came to Australia.
Taking responsibility for the middle-of-the-road work large agencies produce for large middle-of-the-road clients like M&C have must have created dreadful internal conflict for a creative as pure as Andy.
It’s a pity that life and the ad industry demands that you have to grow up and take more and more responsibility until you are approving and even spruiking work you personally would never create, let alone sell to clients or laud in front of the agency staff.
Looking back, life must have seemed so much simpler and authentic when he was punting that crumbling old Mercedes around The Rocks.
One day you will be known. Just like old criminals who are now being brought to justice thanks to DNA – you will be revealed ‘old seedy guy’.
Liam Neeson
Does anybody know who Old CD guy really is?
I am really curious about what his /her achievements were and what this persons most famous work was.Can anybody help?
Tip – You won’t find him at The Bucket List boasting about ad-lyfe to other gormless twats.
Many of us more ‘senior’ readers of CB do know who Old CD Guy is and would warn our young aspirant to be prepared to be disappointed. He is a known plagiarist.Worse he envies many of his contemporaries who enjoyed far greater success and frankly made a lot more money than him.
Nooooooooooooooooooo
The truth is you won’t find Old CD guy anywhere near the industry we all work in every day because he has long been out of it.He is an opinionated fringe dweller with a sadly dated view of the work.
Sorry old timer but the Palace is dead and gone.
More clues please.
Well he wasn’t at the CB lunch.
Truth is Old CD Guy was never a cd.Old Group Head Guy would be more accurate.
Well he wasn’t at the CB lunch.
DiLallo. Nagy.
has such a nice ring to it.
Cha Ching!

Maybe Old CD Guy is the kind of person you’d ask for a Second Opinion?
As for Andy’s departure.
Let’s all virtually punch Old CD Guy (and all the other spiteful half-wits who will never do anything other than post negative comment on this blogsite).
There is only one thing worse than being talked about. And that is not being talked about
Are we fishing in the right loch?
Hunting the right lionel?
Or is it all a bit rocky?
I reckon OLD CD Guy could well have been a hack from Patts in the 80s. At best.
But his yearning to still belong(if he ever did) is a little obvious and rather rediculous.
Old CD Guy still plagiarising after all these years.Used to be mainly Bernbach or Abbot.
Sometimes Charlie Saatchi. Now he’s knocking off Oscar fucking Wilde.Yeah he loved an Award annual did Old CD Guy.
M&C isn’t a global outpost that was sustained by global holding company deals. They pitched, won and grew into an Aussie powerhouse on their own merit by delivering value to their clients. Awards were an added bonus for a good job done. A huge difference.
