Booking.com launches first-ever Australian brand campaign with Mick Molloy via W+K Amsterdam
Australian online hotel booking service Booking.com has unveiled its major brand launch across the country today via Wieden+Kennedy, Amsterdam. The campaign re-introduces Aussie travellers to a globally successful booking experience.
Booking.com’s first-ever Australian brand campaign, Booking.yeah, will launch online, across TV networks and in cinemas, offering an online travel solution at 345,000 properties around the world that prioritises the customer experience.
Booking.com was recently rated by Hitwise as Australia’s “biggest and fastest growing” online travel agent, with more than 5.3 million visits a month.
Voiced by funny man Mick Molloy, the Booking.yeah campaign launches with a 60 second clip carrying the same title, accompanied by three shorter films – Booking Right, Booking Genius and Booking Joy.
Says Paul Hennessy, Booking.com’s chief marketing officer: “Every night more than one million guests stay in hotels and other accommodations booked on Booking.com. Whether travellers are seeking the vacation of a lifetime or an overnight business trip, Booking.com is the number one accommodation site for finding a home-away-from-home that meets their budget and surpasses their expectations.”
The campaign transforms the word ‘booking’ from a simple transaction and company name into an adjective for the sheer, unbridled joy and satisfaction when you open the door to your accommodation and know you’ve got it right. It is an adjective for those moments of delight that Booking.com uniquely delivers to its customers.
Says Eric Quennoy, W+K Amsterdam executive creative director: “Aussies are among the world’s great travellers; they’re also quite discerning when it comes to getting the accommodation right. So for the person tasked with the booking, there’s a hell of a lot of pressure on their shoulders. Get it wrong, and you’re a pariah. But when you get it right, you’re a ‘booking genius’, and the rest of the holiday just falls into place.”
