DDB Group Melbourne ECD Grant Rutherford departs to start next creative chapter
DDB Group Melbourne executive creative director, Grant Rutherford today left the agency to start the next chapter of his creative life.
Says Rutherford, who joined DDB as ECD in March 2008: “DDB has been my life. It goes without saying it’s hard to leave a fantastic team you’ve loved and nurtured for so long. But firstly I’m going to dedicate more time to the Snowdome Foundation, a charity I co-founded to raise money for research into blood cancers. Snowdome is dedicated to the memory of my beautiful daughter Chloe, who lost her battle with Leukemia over two years ago.”
Says Andrew Little, DDB group managing director: “I have the highest respect for Grant and his motivations for wanting to spend time building on his work with Snowdome Foundation. I’d like to thank him for his enormous contribution to the agency and wish him the very best.”
Says Marty O’Halloran, chairman and CEO: “Grant epitomises DDB’s talented and nice ethos. He is held in the highest regard across our network and will be sorely missed by his many friends and colleagues. We hope to have the opportunity to work with him again in the future.”
Rutherford has spent the last four years at DDB Melbourne. In that time the agency has been crowned Agency of the Year multiple times and received recognition at the highest level for its work.
Details of Grant’s replacement will be announced early next week. There will be no further comment from DDB Melbourne.

Very best of luck with the charity Snowdome. Great to see….
One of the great talents of the industry, we haven’t seen another Big Ad since he and the also extremely talented Ant split forces.
Where ever Rubba ends up, he’ll add light, creativity and smiles to the place. Best of luck Rubba, DDB won’t be the same without you.
Hey Rubba. I have no doubt you’ve left your mark at DDB, just like the german sausages they’re still finding up in the rafters at Patts. Good luck with whatever happens next, you are a nice person. And punctual. With soft eyes. And a warm heart. And awesome junk.
jim.
you’re the best Rubba.
You are a gun Rubba. Always so talented and from an outsiders perspective you very much left your mark and raised the profile of DDB over the last few years. They never really were on the radar for me before that.
The nicest man in advertising, and somehow he’s an amazing talent too.
Good luck to you, and I hope we see you in some lucky Melbourne agency soon.
Yeah, all the best Grant.
Marty
One of the guys that made me feel ok about working in advertising. Good luck with everything Rubba.
