US Sydney to roll out Jan retail event for Subaru

CB can reveal that Subaru has appointed US Sydney to create and implement its January retail event. The win was confirmed by the agency, which had no further comment.
The mainstream branding account remains with Leo Burnett Sydney, which has held the account for over a decade.

The win was for the Retail side of the business which Leo Burnett never had.

So who previously had the retail side if it wasn’t Leo’s?
I don’t know. I’ve seen a lot of retail at Leo’s.
Could be the start of a slippery slope for Leo’s and Subaru. Sounds like the client isn’t 100% happy with the agency if they’re giving business to US.
Gotta say, the Subaru work on the whole is very average. Particularly that ad shot in NZ that keeps popping up on the SMH site when you view video.

Good win for some of the nicest blokes in the business. I don’t work there (i wish), but they were the only ones to congratulate us when we won at an event last year.
The retail business was with a little agency in edgecliffe called Finlay Preece Alliance. It probably made up there entire revenue.

Leos has always wanted the retail business (it’s an easy buck) but they’ve never been able to secure it.
Subaru has been unhappy with FPA for a long time due to lack of creativity. Good win for US.
By the look of the ‘event’, their unhappiness will continue.
