So, they beat you to it 1:12. Suck it up.
I saw the deck one on the weekend and loved it.
This isn’t world beating shit. It’s just making the most of a tough brief.
Which is pretty much what ^$%* like us are meant to get paid for yeah?
HAL
Very refreshing for Telstra.
Love it. I watched both ads twice.
Rubbish.
ooooooohhhhhh it is rather similar is it not. I fucking like it but and wish I had have of done them.
You wouldn’t expect they’d be holding onto the account much longer after this batch.

Good find. Though this was familiar.
Love it! Refreshing and just nice. Which I had it on the reel. 500% better than the other crap Telstra does.

Good find. Obviously where the ‘inspiration’ came from.
Our jobs seems to be all about reference finding these days.
Who would know that it’s a tough brief?
Except someone from the agency, hey 2.01pm…
Nice excuse for average work anyway.
Good work.

You’d love it if I worked at the agency involved wouldn’t you?
But I don’t.
I don’t even know anyone who was involved in the creation of this ad.
Apart from Will Ferrel and Don Cheadle.
We’re pretty close.
The monkeys hype is awesome, when are they ever going to live up to it?
That kid’s really annoying…
Oh… and the ads are shit.
pretty good. next?
The debate here should not be about the technique. Though we should thank 1:12 for the reference. No, this complete departure from the more eccentric T-Hub launch work with AGB underlines the difficulty of finding an enduring campaign idea and brand personality and sticking with it. I would have thought THAT is Mark Collis’s number one challenge, and the purpose of his appointment, which I presume predated this work.
Kudos. Bang on for the target. Who cares if they’re not world beating? The best an ad can do is make you feel good about about the brand. These do that in spades. And for Telstra, that’s saying something. Hats off to all involved.
Nice job monkeys. No wonder those bwm peeps are talking to Optus
Who directed?
these ads work of ridiculous exaggerations of lazy and doped teenagers…its really not that funny
BWM talking to Optus?
Seeing as Optus are incredibly happy with M&C, I would have thought that would be a suicidal thing to have circulating, especially as they’re desperately clinging on to Telstra and since Great Wall, the work has been pedestrian at best.
I’d be taking Collis out to lunch. Everyone else is
Tough brief. Tougher product. Great work.
Not every brief can be a Tide brief, unfortunately.
The trouble with Telstra is they have too many agencies that dish up many different ideas.
The new tag line won’t hold it all together. Dare I say it a big idea is needed.
First they ‘reference’ Futurama,
now they ‘reference’ funny or die.
Hope they do Star Wars next.
This product seems like not much more than an iPhone that you can’t carry around.
Not sure that any advertising can save it.
This really is pedestrian at best. Just because three drunk monkeys did it doesn’t make it good. If BWM had made this wallpaper the comments here would be much harsher. Telstra must be a terrible client to get such shit work out of an army of potentially great agencies.
Tough brief, tough client, simple solution, the target will connect with the work.
Well done
Nick
Monkey ordinary.
I love the fact the gen y’er doesn’t give a shit.
They’re such a great generation. Great hair. Great attitude.
Isn’t that hit-girl from Kick-Ass?
very average. Could have been better. Live and learn.
Bell didn’t even invent the telephone.
I’m sure a better client would have produced better work.
Well done monkeys!

Thanks Iz.
… too bad she wasnt wearing a white top, otherwise more you pricks would like it.

Ooooh don’t let the femenazi get the better of you.
They’re ok. Obviously ‘inspired’ tho.
