Leo Burnett Sydney takes out Media Lions Grand Prix for Canon ‘EOS Photochains’
Leo Burnett Sydney’s Cannes contingent partied hard after taking out the Cannes MediaLions Grand Prix tonight for Canon’s ‘EOS Photochains’ and being crowned Cannes Media Agency of the Year.
George Patterson Y&R, Melbourne scored a Gold Lion for Cadbury Picnic’s ‘It’s no Picnic’. And Starcom Melbourne won two Silver Lions, both for Mars ‘Pedigree Adoption Drive‘, which was designed to change public perceptions from “damaged shelter dog” to “family pet,” and help persuade dog lovers to adopt 3,000 dogs.
Starcom MediaVest Group is the only Australian media agency to win at Cannes. CEO John Sintras, who is in Cannes this week to receive the awards, said: “This is an outstanding achievement for Starcom in Australia. We’re consistently producing globally competitive work to achieve fantastic results for our clients. Achieving two Silver Lions is an amazing accolade for our team especially following the Gold Lion we were awarded last year for our Mars Strauchanie campaign.”
Meanwhile,Colenso BBDO, Auckland won a Gold Lion for its Yellow Pages ‘Yellow Chocolate’ campaign. Only 48 Lions were awarded including eight Gold.
