Watson named CD of Momentum, Sydney
Momentum Worldwide, Sydney, one of the most creatively-awarded BTL marketing agencies in Australia, today bolstered its creative offering, appointing Phil Watson as creative director.
Watson previously was CD at Boomerang and prior to that associate creative director for Mojo Publicis. He has judged local awards like ADMA and Young Guns and won many local and international accolades including three Cannes Gold Lions for Virgin Credit Card. In addition to Cannes, Watson has nabbed a swag of awards from ECHO Diamond, Caples, ADMA and APMA.
“Phil’s appointment is the first of several initiatives in the coming months geared to drive our creative product to new heights,” says Gus Guthrie, managing director, Momentum Worldwide Australia.
Says Watson: “Momentum has a wonderful reputation and I’m delighted to be joining the team and relishing the challenge to help Momentum cement its place as leaders in the BTL space in Australia with a revitalized creative proposition.”

Let me be the first to say that that is good to see. Good luck to you Phil…
I’ve heard of Phil and heard he’s good. But have never heard of Momentum. Did Mark or BMF change their name.
Check out their website. Pretty cool, seems like they’ve got their heads down instead of peacocking and preening.

Went to their pretty cool web sight which appears to be Animal Logics old web site.
I just had a quick browse of that Tanya and have to say it’s not a bad looking website.
Here’s hoping Phil can raise the bar on some of that work…
Sounds like he may well be able to…?
Apologies fellow bloggers for the positive commentary.
Like Animal Logics old site?
You’re having a laugh. I used to work at Animal Logic and know that site like the back of my hand and am afraid to say that Momentum’s site kicks its ass as much as it pains me to say it. Cool site – gives creative agencies in Sydney something to measure up to. Thanks for sharing Tanya – will look out for Momentum and Phil in future.
Yes, and even Promo has a category in Cannes, I think a lot of the stuff they do is quite good.
Top bloke. Good luck with it Phil – the prettiest goth in Town.
Good luck mate
Good luck man ! =D
