Australia’s Michael Simons is the new chief creative officer of Draft FCB, New York, promoted from his role as executive creative director of the agency’s Asia-Pacific region, the position he has held since mid last year. Simons had previously been executive CD of the Draft FCB Sydney since 1998.
Before that, he was a creative director on Nike at Wieden + Kennedy in Portland and a senior creative at George Patterson Bates, Sydney.
Simons told CB from New York that the ECD role at Draft FCB Sydney has been taken by the agency’s senior writer Simon Edwards.

Nice one, Michael, hope to catch you in the city – bring your woolies, it’s getting cold now! Mara Marich
Well done Michael! and you could not have left Sydney in more than capable hands with Simon.
A couple of top blokes, doing top work.
Good Luck with your OS posting and I am sure I’ll see the fruits of your labor on ‘Best Ads’ in no time.
Nice to see another Aussie kickin’ it in NY.
Brilliant choice in Eddie to take over.
FCB Sydney ever won anything in the last 2 or 3 years?
Can we have your house?
Simon, speak into the mic!

No.
No business or Awards in 10 years.
I don’t get this business either.
Has to be said that people seem to to leave FCB Sydney for greatness. Noel, Michael …? something in the water?
FCB NY is a dead end
big risk to take any job there.
the money must great and michael must be willing to retire after this one.
nice one, earn some real money, not that plastic monopoly shit.

Exactly zilch.
er…. you should sign in before leaving comments about yourself
not sure running your new agency into the ground constitutues greatness champ
3.35 I agree.
Simon & Simons. Wasn’t that an American cop/private investigator show?
5.03, greatness?
The place is a ghost town. At least Amy won new business…
JAMES HIRD’S? Hope this guy’s as handy around the forward line.
um, there goes my faith that winning awards every year is what gets you far in this industry. actually that went a long time ago.
5.03 – the only person who could possibly think that running that agency was ‘greatness’ was the person who is doing it. Come on… Please front up when writing about yourself.
And given the only two good things about the place left to join a better agency 6 months ago, I’m not sure I’d be chirping on this site at all.
Congrats Michael. You haven’t set the world alight, but you are a decent human being
Dave I like your throw away line, it has class
“Congrats Michael. You haven’t set the world alight, but you are a decent human being”
To Andy, Jon and Dave
Sorrry to disappoint all three of you but I didn’t write the email
Now that buggers things up for you just a touch -doesn’t it?
Keeping eating your sour grapes

bit of a coincidence that you’re back reading this post isn’t it?
or are there a stack of other people who think you’ve headed off for greatness?
whatever keeps you going champ
