Youngbloods x The Aunties join forces for panel discussion on imposter syndrome Wed 11th May
Youngbloods and The Aunties will join forces for a panel discussion on imposter syndrome on Wednesday 11th May.
The power panel, hosted by oOh!media in South Melbourne, features four brilliant leaders from different industries, each of whom have had to navigate and overcome feelings of impostor syndrome in their career.
The star lineup includes: Nomfundo Msomi, head of strategy at WhiteGrey Melbourne, Mia Klitsas, founder and director of Moxie Progressive Period Care, Emma Robbins, executive creative director of M&C Saatchi Melbourne and Rachel Lounds, certified life and mindset coach and impostor syndrome specialist.
Moderated by Dhivia Pillai, senior strategist at TBWA, Youngbloods member and Auntie, the conversation will unpack important themes such as confidence at work, overcoming your inner critic and feeling like an outsider – particularly when due to gender, ethnicity and/or identity. The event will run with hopes for audience members to leave with tangible advice, tips and ways to identify and overcome imposter syndrome in day-to-day scenarios.
Says Pillai: “So many of us have internalised the myth that we aren’t good enough in ways that stop us from reaching our full potential. We’re excited to have a fantastic, representative panel of womxn at the top of their game, often in male-dominated industries, who’ll be shedding light on their experiences, as well as the impact this will have on our audience’s lives and careers.”
Says Lauren Eddy, senior copywriter at Bullfrog and co-founding Auntie: “Lack of confidence was an unfortunate theme running through many applications for The Aunties’ first junior mentorship program. We hope to change that pattern by opening up the imposter syndrome conversation and giving young people the tools they need to overcome it.”
The event is open to anyone in the industry. Current Aunties and mentees in the latest program are also encouraged to attend together, as their formal mentorship comes to an end in May. While the discussion will largely draw on women’s experiences, men are very welcome to come along and join this invaluable conversation.
Says Shaun McFarlane, Youngbloods national co-chair and Special creative: “Partnering with The Aunties has been an awesome experience and we can’t wait to see what we’ll do next together. In fact, we actually couldn’t wait, which is why we’ve got our sights set to bring this event to Sydney early next year.”

Where: oOh!media, 101 Moray Street, South Melbourne
