Youngbloods launches creative competition ‘The Hard Sell’ – deadline 5pm Tuesday 7th December

Youngbloods Australia has launched The Hard Sell – a brand new free-to-enter creative competition for advertising students and juniors to sell the unsellable, judged by the industry’s best.

The competition is designed to get juniors thinking in an exciting new way that their day jobs might not traditionally allow, providing them with opportunities to create unique and interesting work by selling a brand’s product or service to its least likely audience.

With renowned local and international clients already on board, the first brief calls for entrants to sell Cadbury Roses to singles on Valentine’s Day – with the winner receiving a year’s worth of Cadbury Roses (and the honour of winning the first brief of the inaugural Hard Sell competition).

Says Charlotte Goodsir, co-chair, Youngbloods Australia: “Whether you’re breaking into the industry or just want another award to put into the trophy cabinet, we can’t wait to bring together the young creative community in Australia. Working with Cadbury and our kickass judges is a dream come true for our inaugural Hard Sell competition.”

Adds Matt Bladin, co-chair, Youngbloods Australia: “With recurring lockdowns, Youngbloods has been looking for ways to grow and be a resource for young people in the industry. The Hard Sell does this by creating a unique way to celebrate and elevate young creatives – something we’ve been passionate about for years.”

The judging panel includes:
Mondelez Senior Marketing Manager, Kathy De Lullo
DDB ECD, Matt Chandler
The Monkeys CCO, Tara Ford
Ogilvy ECD, David Ponce De Leon
CHE Proximity Creative Director, Amy Weston

The competition is free to enter, and the brief can be found here. Follow Youngbloods Australia on Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn to stay up to date with the competition.

Competition deadline is 5pm Tuesday 7th December with the winner announced on Monday 20th December. Entrants can submit work solo or as a partnership with submissions in black and white, supplied on one A3 page (vertical or horizontal) as a single JPG/PDF file.
