Perth creative agency Wildlings hopes to give vulnerable communities some breathing space

Wildlings Creative, Perth has partnered with ClothingPlease.com – an organisation dedicated to diverting clothing away from toxic clothing landfills, and towards people and communities in need.

Western societies’ obsession with fast fashion means that millions of tons of clothing and material waste is being shipped to landfills in countries like Mozambique, Sudan, and Bangladesh every day.

When these landfills are burned poisonous gases are released into the air, causing respiratory diseases like tuberculosis, cardiopulmonary disease, and asthma in neighbouring communities.

‘Breathe’ is a TVC and online video campaign aimed at reducing the amount of fast fashion entering these toxic landfills.

“When we first became aware of the ‘fast fashion’ phenomenon we were shocked,” says Wildlings creative partner Matt Wilson. “But it was really rewarding being able to work with the World of ECO and ClothingPlease.com teams to produce a piece which hopefully puts the issue firmly on the minds of fashion customers.”
