Anglicare WA launches new ‘Cold Call’ fundraising campaign via Wildlings
Wildlings, director Frank Carroll, Soundbyte and Anglicare WA have come together to create the ‘Cold Call’ aimed at providing assistance to the many Western Australians facing the cost-of-living crisis during the winter months caused by record inflation, housing shortages, and rising interest rates.
Says Mark Glasson, CEO of Anglicare WA: “The cost-of-living crisis in WA is placing individuals and families in difficult situations, making it increasingly challenging to secure housing, meet financial obligations, and provide for basic needs. The Cold Call serves as a reminder of the hardships faced by many, as they are compelled to seek unsolicited help.
“This winter seems to be colder than previous years, so just imagine how much tougher it is if you can’t turn on the heater – or worse, are sleeping outside. More and more Western Australians are in this situation – many for the first time, and through no fault of their own.”
Says Emma-Jane Morcombe, marketing director of Anglicare WA: “We are incredibly proud to partner again with Wildlings and immensely grateful for their generosity and support – not only have they shared their own professional skills to produce this powerful campaign – but they’ve engaged equally amazing professionals who have waived many of their usual costs to support the Cold Call production. We’re blown away by the kindness of the sector to help raise funds for Anglicare WA, so we can help families make ends meet this winter.”
Drawing inspiration from the concept of cold calling, the campaign aims to shed light on the struggles experienced by individuals seeking unsolicited assistance during the harsh winter months.
Wildlings creative partners commended director Frank Carroll, Soundbyte and their teams for their amazing work: “Frank and the Soundbyte crew helped us pull this campaign together in a really short amount of time on a limited budget, creating a campaign which we’re hoping will resonate with Western Australian’s who may be able to spare a few dollars for those doing it tough.”
Donations to this year’s Anglicare WA Winter Appeal will go directly into helping tackle the cost-of-living crisis, such as providing emergency relief to people who can’t afford to buy groceries or pay the bills. Every donation will make a difference to Western Australians doing it tough.

This really resonates after I’ve just received my biggest power bill ever. It’s not just effecting those on the fringe anymore.
Brilliant work to everyone involved!
*Chef kiss. Really got me.
Really powerful stuff.
Well done to all involved.
Yep, this is good. Not sure where or how it will be viewed, but it works.
I do think it could be better if the people approached were not actors, however.
Risker, definitely. But seeing real people’s reactions might actually be even more powerful.
Either way, nice stuff and I hope the campaign is a success and makes a difference.
Some of the performances are awesome. Well done.
