pedigree.jpegA new TVC, print and online campaign launched this week for Pedigree DentaStix, a daily oral care routine for dogs that can help prevent gum disease.

Following the recent successs of the TBWA Group campaign in the US and UK markets, Whybin\TBWA\Tequila Melbourne have adapted the original creative and built a digital platform to support the TVC.

Founded on the statistics that four out of five dogs suffer from gum disease and the worrying fact that most owners are unaware of its prevalence, Pedigree’s campaign endeavors to raise awareness of the issue and educate owners through humour, on the importance of regular dental care.

The creative idea, ‘Dogs don’t want dentures, DentaStix’ uses footage of dogs wearing human dentures and speaking.

A featured microsite, www.doggiedentures.com.au has been built to house core product information along with a new application allowing users to denture their dogs. The application extends the reach of the campaign by allowing users to create a customed dentured dog, which can be forwarded via email or posted to their Facebook wall.

The campaign will run until mid-April at which time it will focus on Doggie Dental Month in May enabling dog owners to obtain free checks ups for their dogs at their nearest participating vet.
