Whybin’s snares top BBH London team
Whybin\TBWA\Tequila, Sydney has hired BBH London creative team Gary McCreadie and Wesley Hawes.
Both began their careers at CHI and VCCP before joining BBH, where they’ve spent the last five years. Whilst there, they worked on all the agency’s clients, notably Tango, Lynx, Robinsons Juice and most recently they were the team responsible for the Barclaycard ‘Slide’ commercial. This spot led to the most downloaded free app on the i-phone, ever.
Says Whybin\TBWA creative director Matt Kemsley: “Garry (Horner) and Iare thrilled the guys are on board. You don’t spend 5 years at BBHunless you’re capable of creating big media neutral ideas. That’s whatthese two do and that’s why we’ve hired them. Plus they’re great blokeswho’ll add to the creative culture we’re building here, which is a nicebonus.”
Says Wesley: “Matt and Garry have a great creative vision for theagency and we certainly believe there’s an opportunity to do some greatwork here. We’re an integrated team so we like to work across alldisciplines, including non-traditional media. Something Whybin’s areembracing, which was also important for us. A few of our ex-BBHcolleagues have recently come over here and done some cracking workalready, so we’re under a bit of pressure to emulate their success. AtWTBWA, we think we’re at the right place to do it.”

Good luck boys, look forward to seeing your work.
Horner, English. Hires Kemsley, English. Hires McCreadie and Hawes, English.
I think I spot a trend. Good luck lads, this isn’t England.
Nice chaps. Welcome to Aus.
She’ll be right. Look out for sharks.
P.s I didn’t do that fart in the pub. Ian did.
Handsome pair
Say goodbye to England…and your livers.
Ain’t they a couple of Aussies coming home?
Garry also has four Kiwis working in his department (to balance out the four Poms), plus a French guy, an Indian and a couple of token Aussies.
That fart wasn’t me, Dean.
You know you’re renowned for dropping one after a Guinness.
Good luck Wes and Gaz.
Ams crossed, arms straight.
Seem to know what they’re doing.
what was the iphone app?
Actually, just to set the record straight, Garry has been a proud Aussie for some time now.
CHI?? Really, when did they work there then?
Wez…… never forget your roots, England at this time may not be your vocation in life, but it gave you a very good start……….Dadx
Settle down chaps, it’s only a job.
They have to win back St. George first.
Geezer – fest.
Winter in the Old Dart must be on its way!
The one on the left looks like a caricature of a hard man of soccer with immovable opinions and an indecipherable northern accent. But he’s probably not.
The one on the left is said to be some sort of cage fighter. So be careful what you say.
Thanks for the tip, 4.54. ‘Jay’ is a nom de plume chosen personally by my mate Lynchy to conceal a world champion coward. I know – it’s me!
ITS THE ONE ON THE RIGHT YOU HAVE TO WATCH, HIS A KUNG FU EXPERT JET CAN DO OR SOMETHING……
Top Team… Barclaycard won several GOLD awards in London midsummer awards last month. And their Tango posters are getting some attention.

Having just viewed the Barclaycard commercial I would say to the boys “don’t get your hopes up”.
Obstacles you’ll face: Constipated, nervous, conservative brand guardians – sorry, clients – restrictive production budgets and 30 second durations for TV commercials.
But the waterslides and weather here are much better than the UK. So my advice would be: chill, don’t try to change the world, enjoy the lifestyle.
Don’t forget to send me a script… And I’ll cast Glenn Wrage…

So will there be any boarding trips down in southern Aus? Val will be waiting patiently.
