What place does ethics truly have in advertising? QLD Youngbloods’ Ethical Advertising event aims to find out

For its first major event of the year, the QLD Youngbloods team are diving straight into the deep end. Where do we draw a moral line in our work? How does this vary for individuals and how will this change with upcoming generations of advertising professionals? How is this impacted by those represented in our teams? The list goes on!

The team’s Ethical Advertising event is set to take place on Wednesday, April 19th with Nick Hunter, keynote speaker and CEO/executive creative director at Paper Moose and James Fewtrell, account director at Carbon Creative, set to lead a panel style discussion on ethics in the advertising industry. With more exciting guests to be announced, it’s one not to be missed.

Says QLD Youngbloods co-chair, Elle Whittaker: “As a new generation of advertisers in a more socially conscious world, it’s so important for us to know where our personal and professional values align in industry.”

Says QLD Youngbloods co-chair, Nethmee Goonesekera: “This is an event we’ve been working on internally for a long time. It was so important to us to have leading voices who could speak to all areas of ethics in advertising.”

Ethics play into so many elements of the industry it can be an overwhelming consideration at times. Ethical Advertising is designed as a forum to discuss ethical issues in our industry and provide young professionals with advice on how to navigate these. Of course, this all applies to adjacent industries as well- so if you’re in advertising, PR, digital, creative, production or anything else adjacent, this one’s for you too.
