Ward6 continues to evolve with three new assignments and four new appointments

Independent healthcare agency, Ward6, has been quietly changing the way it does business, ensuring creativity and innovation are at the forefront of every conversation and every brief.

A year ago, Stuart Black, group CEO, made a series of pivotal new hires for the agency, including those of Scott Davis, strategy director and Dr Alisa Knapman, medical writer and promoted Danny Corcoran into the newly-created role of innovation director.

Says Black: “We adjusted our structure as our clients’ needs evolved.”

The result has been improved profitability and the agency being awarded three major new assignments from pharmaceutical giants, Novartis, Pfizer, and Sanofi. The new business includes a product launch, a consumer-facing social campaign, and a pharmacy-based education campaign.

The agency has also announced four new hirings: Caroline Dwyer as group account director, Camilla Beach as senior account manager, Joanne Yabsley as business co-ordinator and Mike Smith as senior writer.

And it’s not only Ward6 that is doing well.

Says Black: “In Ward6 and McCann Health I feel like we have the two best healthcare agencies in the country. It’s something we’re very proud of.”

The businesses continue to act as separate agency brands and are firewalled to maintain client confidentiality.

Adds Black: “We started the business in 2007 because we thought we could make a difference to healthcare communication in Australia. We think we have. We are now doing the same in Singapore. Our business is more than double the size it was in 2017, and thanks to the amazing talent of the people working with us, it’s more fun than ever.”
