Vistar Media caps off a year of unprecedented growth and expansion in the APAC region
Vistar Media, a leading global provider of programmatic technology solutions for out-of-home (OOH) media, concludes 2024 with record-breaking growth and strategic advancements across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
Throughout 2024, Vistar Media grew its APAC team by 50%, increasing from 22 to 33 employees to support the region’s accelerating demand. This expansion included strategic hires in sales, client success, and support, enhancing Vistar’s local expertise and operational strength. The company also opened new offices in Melbourne and Thailand, further embedding its presence in APAC and underscoring its commitment to delivering tailored and localised client service experiences. Melbourne has emerged as a core market, with year-end growth forecasted at 178% year-over-year, while total Australian market growth is projected at 48% growth from FY2023, reinforcing Vistar’s leadership in the programmatic digital out-of-home (DOOH) space.
“This year has been transformative for Vistar Media across APAC, marked by remarkable growth and exciting new capabilities that reflect our commitment to delivering impactful programmatic DOOH solutions,” said Ben Baker (pictured above), Managing Director, APAC, Vistar Media. “With our expanded team and new offices in Melbourne and Thailand, we’re positioned better than ever to provide localised expertise and unparalleled service to our clients.”
2024 also saw Vistar Media welcome Sean Cheyney as Head of Retail Media, a key global hire aiming to bolster leadership within the high-growth retail media segment. Locally, the addition of Alex Waters as Director of Solutions Sales, APAC, marked a milestone, with Alex stepping into a first-of-its-kind role at Vistar, focusing on technical expertise and collaborative solution-building. Recent new hires like Brittany Lefave, Senior Account Director, and Cody Westaway, Account Executive, further underscore Vistar’s ongoing focus on delivering quality and innovation through a dedicated and experienced team.
Thirty-five new media owners joined Vistar’s Supply Side Platform (SSP) in 2024, extending the company’s inventory with more than 139,000 additional venues added, along with a regional expansion into mainland China and Taiwan. Vistar also saw a 51% increase in brands utilising their Demand-Side Platform (DSP) in Australia, allowing Vistar’s clients to connect with audiences at unprecedented scale and depth across the region.
2024 saw significant momentum across the APAC Enterprise business with multiple media owners utilising the Ad Platform to streamline their operations. Media owners adopted solutions encompassing the Content Management System, Ad Server and Mediation that have expanded Vistar beyond programmatic revenue.
Product innovation was also a focus for 2024, with the launch of Vistar Academy in Australia, helping advance education on programmatic DOOH. Auction packages also launched in Australia, helping to simplify access to premium DOOH inventory across retail spaces and billboards. These innovations, alongside improvements to Vistar’s Global DSP, empower advertisers to execute sophisticated campaigns with precision and reach.
Vistar’s achievements and innovative work with clients were recognised this year by winning Gold in the OOH category, at the Drum Global Awards, reinforcing Vistar’s status as a leader in programmatic DOOH.
As Vistar Media reflects on a transformative 2024, the company is poised to drive further advancements and deepen its market impact in 2025. With a focus on enhancing client experiences, expanding its capabilities across the larger OOH ecosystem and upgrading its enterprise technology for media owners. With an expanded team, a strengthened regional presence, and a commitment to impactful DOOH solutions, Vistar Media continues to lead the future of programmatic technology in out-of-home advertising.
