Visa push it for debit via Whybin’s Sydney

Screen shot 2010-09-03 at 11.47.58 AM.pngVisa has launched a new campaign for the Australian market that aims to educate cardholders to press the ‘credit’ button when using their Visa debit card so they can access the benefits of the Visa network.

 

To do this Whybin\TBWA\Tequila, Sydney created aspoof of the classic 90s hit ‘Push It’ by Salt N Pepper creating arapping hand that brought to life this instruction. The campaign ranonline and through the use of traditional and digital outdoor.

The integrated campaign includes online and out-of-home (OOH) components in targeted areas – primarily around key retail stores.

 

Says Visa’s marketing director of Australia and New Zealand, Peter Currey: “We are focusing on the retail and digital environment to remind customers that pushing the credit button when using Visa debit is the correct way to use the card, as it allows cardholders to tap into the benefits of the Visa network.”

 

Adds Nitsa Lotus, general manager of Whybin\TBWA\Tequila\Sydney: “This campaign presented a unique challenge – we needed to communicate quite a dry message to a young target audience. We chose a simple creative vehicle that was fun and engaging to deliver that message.”
