Virgin Australia appoints Special Group as new brand strategy and creative agency partner

Virgin Australia has appointed independent creative agency Special as its brand strategy and creative partner, to further shape the airline’s brand, experience, advertising and communications.
Under the leadership of CEO Jayne Hrdlicka, Virgin Australia is set to elevate its role as Australia’s experience-led, customer-first airline, offering great value airfares and premium service across its Economy, Economy X and Business Class seating options.
Says Libby Minogue, who joined Virgin Australia as its chief marketing officer in April: “As the country re-opens again and Australians reignite their love of travel, we are thrilled to partner with the team at Special to help us take our award-winning customer service, Virgin flair and unrivalled travel experience, to the next level.
“We are operating in a brave new world which has provided us a unique opportunity to re-imagine what the Virgin Australia service can mean to all Australians as they return to the sky to go on their next adventure or reunite with loved-ones.”
Says Lindsey Evans, partner and CEO at Special Australia: “This is without doubt one of the most exciting and interesting marketing challenges in the land, and of our careers. The Virgin Australia team are some of the nicest and brightest in the business and we are over the moon to be on this journey with them.”

This is huge for Special Group. Congratulations!
But Virgin sure do move their account around a lot don’t they? I remember pitching and losing on it a few years ago.
Never a good sign of a strong client who knows what they stand for. Blame the agency and up sticks, it’s easier.
Departing for yet another agency.
Didn’t CHEP only get it after DDB because the company collapsed and DDB were too expensive?
I know big Red has a piece of it too.
